Wendy F. Habelow, Ph.D.

Wendy F. Habelow, Ph.D. received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, and her Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Michigan State University.  She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Yale University and was a post-doctoral fellow at the Elmcrest Psychiatric Institute.

In addition to being a licensed psychologist, Dr. Habelow is a certified Mediator and Collaborative Divorce Professional.  She joined Beacon in 1993 and presently co-owns and manages the practice.  She holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the Connecticut Psychological Association, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, the Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce and the Connecticut Collaborative Divorce Group.  She volunteers as a Special Master for the Regional Family Trial Docket and for the Early Intervention Program in the Hartford Family Court.  

Dr. Habelow works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.  She specializes in treating Depression, Anxiety including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, relationship problems in couples and families, and Eating Disorders, particularly overeating.  She is a facilitator and trainer for the PEACE Program, a program for divorcing and divorced parents to learn to co-parent collaboratively.  Dr. Habelow is the co-founder of The True Partnership Marriage Program, a pre-marital program for couples to learn skills to promote a healthy, lasting marriage.  She has expertise in the areas of cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, interpersonal communication and interaction, relationship enhancement and conflict resolution.
